The intersection of climate change and cultural heritage is an urgent yet underexplored area in global climate action. Climate change poses severe threats to cultural and natural heritage sites across Africa and beyond, endangering both tangible and intangible heritage that shapes local identities, histories, and economies. Youth play a vital role in safeguarding these sites through innovative solutions, advocacy, and community engagement. This virtual event seeks to provide a platform for young people to engage with experts, policymakers, and heritage professionals to discuss climate action strategies for cultural heritage preservation. It will foster knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, and youth-led advocacy to ensure that heritage conservation is integrated into climate policies and frameworks.
